Cynáa-Nicole

Cynáa-Nicole is an 18-year-old vocalist, musician, songwriter, and vocal coach from Northern Virginia. She graduated in June 2025 from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. With over a decade of experience in music, dance, and acting, Cynáa-Nicole has trained in music theory and piano with In Tune Music Studio/Davis Dynasty since 2017.

As a dedicated vocal coach, Cynáa-Nicole shares her technique and passion with vocalists near and far, teaching students locally across the DMV area, in Los Angeles, and internationally as far as Abu

Dhabi.

 

Since launching her musical career in May 2022, Cynáa-Nicole has co-written over 30 original songs and continues to develop her artistry as a singer-songwriter and producer. In June 2024, she earned a scholarship through the B4 Program at Berklee College of Music and won the Young

Master for Music Competition with The Links, Incorporated. That same year, she received a gold medal in the Vocal: Contemporary category at the PWC ACT-SO local competition before

competing nationally in Las Vegas.

Cynáa-Nicole is a regular feature at a wide variety of high-profile events, galas, and showcases.

Her diverse performance history includes singing "Black and Blue" at a private event for Dionne

Warwick in Washington, D.C., and performing with the Grammy Award-winning Patrick Lundy's Ministers of Music at the 2025 Capitol Fourth celebration, providing background vocals for Lauren Daigle and Yolanda Adams. As a member of the Duke Ellington Concert Choir, she has

performed at the White House.

 

Additional prominent appearances include performing "Lift Every

Voice and Sing" at the 24th Virginia Black History Month Gala, performing at the DC Women Sing event at The Whittemore House, and singing for the Medal of Honor celebration honoring Major James Capers Jr., a pioneering U.S. Marine Corps legend, the first Black Marine officer to receive

the Medal of Honor, and the first to earn a battlefield commission.

 

In December 2025, Cynáa-Nicole headlined her first sold-out concert, "A Night of Soul with Cynáa-Nicole," featuring a live band and a blend of jazz, neo-soul, R&B, and original music. In 2026, she was selected as one of the Emerging Artists for the Washington Women in Jazz Festival. She was a featured vocalist and dancer in a six-show production of Raisin: The Musical at the Hylton Performing Arts Center and played Dorothy's Mother in two productions of The Wiz-ARD with Umbiance Performing Arts Center. This past summer, she participated in the Washington Jazz Institute with Davey Yarborough and DC Jazz. Most recently in August, she performed at 600T speakeasy in D.C. for the Listening Room event.

Beyond music, Cynáa-Nicole expresses her creativity through fashion and beauty. She owns her own hair business, Stylez by Cynáa, and was a featured fashion designer in Duke Ellington School of the Arts' 50th Anniversary Fashion Show at Saks Fifth Avenue. Currently taking a gap year to focus on performing, expanding her artistry, building new opportunities within the music

industry, and studying real estate and business, her long-term goals remain focused on performing, writing, and producing as a professional artist.
